The At Home Alliance is the coming together of local specialist services, trainers, independent professionals, Quality of Life Ambassador services, housing support services, charities and local voluntary groups, as a choice for people to be supported at home when funded by a personal health budget and other funding.
This network of local services is integrated to Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards by the HomeCareDirect Direct Payments Third Party Option which employs and trains local carers and personal assistants chosen by people to support them at home. This is local people supporting local people.
Personal Health Budgets to CQC Standards
The At Home Alliance enables people, with up to the most complex of continuing health care needs, to exercise their right to a personal health budget (PHB) to be supported in their own home.
The At Home Alliance can be used as a choice for people where previously it was felt that a personal health budget for them was just a ‘step too far’.
By working in partnership with local and national housing organisations, the At Home alliance can be used to bring people back home into their local community on discharge from out-of-area rehabilitation units and long stay hospitals.
The CQC Reassurance
When choosing to use the At Home Alliance, together with the Direct Payments Third Party Option of HomeCareDirect, comfort can be taken that the support will be to CQC standards. When this is then also supported by the client choice of local services all working together, the At Home Alliance is designed to give good ongoing outcomes for people.
